Sustainability
This means the ability of a project to maintain its impact and operation over the long term, even after initial funding or external support from donors has ended.
We know that development is a process and we plan to build 8 shops attached to school’s perimeter fence being constructed. This we envision to have the advantage for economic impact by taking into consideration the profitability, job creation, customer engagement and long term financially security for the school.
As per our plan the building of 8 shops on the outside of the 32 meters of the completed wall for sustainability of JRDC School is 70% completed. The completion of this 135 meter wall and shops is to be accomplished after the 3rd and final touches in the 4th phases.
Phase One – COMPLETED
Planned budget
Expenditures 295,640 Et birr or $2384 USD
This included the back side wall of the 8 shops; a 32 meter wall and with a main gate and columns.
Phase Two – COMPLETED (March 22, 2025)
Completed the basic concrete infrastructure of the 8 shops and and adjoining 36meter wall.
Expenditures: 923,065 Et Bir ($7268 USD)
Total Expenditure thus far on project phases $9,652
Phase Three – PROJECTION (2nd Quarter 2025)
The goal for upcoming fundraising initiatives for the Third Phase is the completion of the 8 shops.
This includes:

- ceiling work – 102,400.00 birr
- Doors /Shatter – 425,000.000 birr
- One Meter and electrical instillations for 8 shops- 80,000
Total 760,650 Et birr or $5,989.37 USD at current pricing.
Phase Four – PROJECTION (4th Quarter 2025)
Final 68 meter wall needed to complete the whole project of 135 meters with sanitary facility for shops to estimated to be $6000 USD.
